Let $G$ be a semisimple complex algebraic group with Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. For a nilpotent $G$-orbit ${\mathcal{O}}\subset \mathfrak{g}$, let $d_{{\mathcal{O}}}$ denote the maximal dimension of a subspace $V\subset \mathfrak{g}$ that is contained in the closure of ${\mathcal{O}}$. In this note, we prove that $d_{{\mathcal{O}}}\leq {\textstyle \frac{1}{2}}\dim {\mathcal{O}}$ and this upper bound is attained if and only if ${\mathcal{O}}$ is a Richardson orbit. Furthermore, if $V$ is $B$-stable and $\dim V={\textstyle \frac{1}{2}}\dim {\mathcal{O}}$, then $V$ is the nilradical of a polarisation of ${\mathcal{O}}$. Every nilpotent orbit closure has a distinguished $B$-stable subspace constructed via an $\mathfrak{sl}_{2}$-triple, which is called the Dynkin ideal. We then characterise the nilpotent orbits ${\mathcal{O}}$ such that the Dynkin ideal (1) has the minimal dimension among all $B$-stable subspaces $\mathfrak{c}$ such that $\mathfrak{c}\cap {\mathcal{O}}$ is dense in $\mathfrak{c}$, or (2) is the only $B$-stable subspace $\mathfrak{c}$ such that $\mathfrak{c}\cap {\mathcal{O}}$ is dense in $\mathfrak{c}$.

We study the values of the zeta-function of the root system of type G2 at positive integer points. In our previous work we considered the case when all integers are even, but in the present paper we prove several theorems which include the situation when some of the integers are odd. The underlying reason why we may treat such cases, including odd integers, is also discussed.

We present a construction ‘à la Chevalley’ of connected affine supergroups associated with Lie superalgebras of type D(2, 1; a), for any possible value of the parameter a. This extends the results by Fioresi and Gavarini, in which all other simple Lie superalgebras of classical type were considered. The case of simple Lie superalgebras of Cartan type is dealt with in a previous paper by the author, so this work completes the programme of constructing connected affine supergroups associated with any simple Lie superalgebra.

In our previous work, we established the theory of multi-variable Witten zeta-functions, which are called the zeta-functions of root systems. We have already considered the cases of types A2, A3, B2, B3 and C3. In this paper, we consider the case of G2-type. We define certain analogues of Bernoulli polynomials of G2-type and study the generating functions of them to determine the coefficients of Witten's volume formulas of G2-type. Next, we consider the meromorphic continuation of the zeta-function of G2-type and determine its possible singularities. Finally, by using our previous method, we give explicit functional relations for them which include Witten's volume formulas.
