Introduction

Our series host, Dr Marianna Zavrou (Digital Content Editor, BJPsych International), introduces the series. The series will consist of four videos released on a monthly basis covering articles published in the journal by authors from across the world. All articles are open access and freely available to read worldwide. 



Episode Two

Daniela Lira and Patricio Caviedes join host Marianna Zavrou to talk about a mobile app for early anxiety and depression intervention in university students in Chile. The results of their study, published in the journal, contribute to the expanding evidence for the value of developing digital technologies that can be used for prevention and early intervention for mental health problems in university students. Read the open access article below.

Episode Four

Harkishan Mamtani and Ruta Karaliuniene join host Marianna Zavrou to discuss their study published in the journal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, videoconferencing applications (apps) came into the mainstream across the world. Episode Three

Gathoni Mbugua and Cushny Kaigwa join host Marianna Zavrou to discuss their case report. Although telepsychiatry has proven to be as effective as face-to-face care, there still remains little uptake of this form of care provision in sub-Saharan Africa. This discussion highlights the use of telepsychiatry in a previously telemedicine-naive private mental health facility in Kenya, including challenges and lessons learned from the experience. Read the open access article below.
