Summary
This chapter discusses the role of Case based learning (CBL) in medical education. The CBL process is outlined, and the role of tutor described. CBL in the virtual learning environment is considered before the benefits and limitations of CBL are highlighted. Finally, a number of practical considerations for effective CBL are presented.
