Summary
Imperfect feminized and masculinized figures in Second Temple texts are associated with aspects of moral psychology: emotions, interiorizing, agency, self, character, and the novella as genre. These are tied to developments in scribalism. In addition, three late texts were considered as transitional to later developments: Shepherd of Hermas, Testament of Joseph, and Joseph and Aseneth.
