OA publishing agreement with IReL - Irish Research eLibrary
The Irish Research eLibrary (IReL) has made an agreement with Cambridge University Press to support Open Access publishing.
If you are affiliated with a participating institution, you can publish your article Open Access (OA) - at no cost to you - in gold and hybrid journals.

- Trinity College Dublin (TCD)
- University College Cork (UCC)
- University College Dublin (UCD)
- University of Limerick (UL)

Author Training on publishing under a Transformative Agreement
To be eligible, articles must:
- Have a corresponding author affiliated with a participating institution as listed above.
- Be original research – eligible article types are research articles, review articles, rapid communications, brief reports and case reports.
- Be accepted for publication in a Cambridge University Press journal covered by the agreement.
- Be accepted for publication between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2025.
Please note that IReL defines ‘affiliated’ as a ‘current staff member or student at the time the article is accepted for publication’ and will verify your status before approving OA funding.
