Members of the Association will have an opportunity to meet the nominees at a special gathering on Thursday, August 28, in Philadelphia as part of the APSA Annual Meeting. Elections will be held at the Business Meeting on Saturday, August 30. Procedures for nominations from the floor are set down in Article V (1, 2) of the APSA Constitution, www.apsanet.org/about/governance.

The following members served on the 2003 Nominating Committee: Frank Baumgartner, Pennsylvania State University (chair); Amy Gutmann, Princeton University; David Laitin, Stanford University; Cheryl Miller, University of Maryland; Valerie Martinez-Ebers, Texas Christian University; and Richard Snyder, University of Illinois.

Changes to Membership Cycle in 2003

With the launch of Perspectives on Politics in 2003, APSA members now receive one journal a month rather than two journals bundled together every three months. PS arrives in your mailbox in January, April, July, and October. APSR shows up in February, May, August, and November. Perspectives comes in March, June, September, and December.

Due to this new publication schedule, APSA has changed its annual membership cycle. Now, membership expiration dates are assigned to the end of members' anniversary months. For example, if someone joins APSA on February 20, 2003, her membership will run through February 28, 2004, rather than expiring on December 31, 2003 as it has in the past.

Members who renew on time retain the same expiration month. However, members who renew late have the option of receiving back issues of the journals they've missed or of receiving a full calendar year of membership.

As always, if you have any questions about your membership please contact member services at 202.483.2512 or .
