We begin this issue of Continuity and Change by giving our grateful thanks to Julie Marfany and Chris Briggs, who have both stepped down as editors. Julie has been a mainstay of the journal, having joined as an associate editor in 2007 and serving as book review editor in subsequent years. In 2012, she took over as one of the co-editors after the departure of Phillipp Schofield. Chris has similarly been involved with the journal over the past decade, serving on the editorial board since 2011, as editor of a special issue, and as a co-editor since 2014. We wish to give our heartfelt thanks to both Julie and Chris who have ensured the continuing quality of the journal, consistently overseeing the publication of excellent articles and special issues. Contributors over the years will have benefited from their thoughtful and generous editing and we hope you will join us in thanking them for their years of service.
Replacing Chris and Julie, we are pleased to welcome two new members to the editorial team, who took over in July 2020. Helena da Silva is a historian of health at the Contemporary History Institute of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. She has published on a range of topics relating to medical history, health care, and gender and the family. Alex Brown is an economic and social historian at Durham University, UK. He has published widely on rural society in the medieval and early modern periods, exploring the relationship between agrarian capitalism and changes in the social structure of English society.
