Research on parenting support has constantly received attention in the Nordic countries. Still, there is only limited literature written in English about the subject. However, there is a strong tradition of literature on welfare state policy as well as family support and policy in the Nordic countries. Furthermore, the key literature on parenting support from other countries in Europe is represented here. Several articles in this themed section highlighted the gendered nature of parenting support, one article particularly focusing on the theme. Therefore, I found it important to add recent literature about equality, gender and parenting support to this literature section.
