Relationality is embedded in our daily lives. How we relate to one another conditions how we see ourselves and how we are seen. This special issue addresses two challenges. First, what happens if we conceive relationality in a manner that ontologically begins by assuming interconnection as prior to the existence of entities. Second, it seeks to pluralize the sources of relational thinking in IR by showcasing how different cosmological traditions view relationality. Pluralizing the sources of relational thinking will enrich geo-cultural representation within IR theorizing and provide an important baseline for generating more nuanced conceptual tools better capable of confronting complexity in today’s world.
The complete collection with a full introduction will be published by Review of International Studies as a Special Issue in summer or Autumn 2022.
