Extract
My experience comes from being an international human rights lawyer who works mainly with international human rights in different parts of the world but mainly comes from the Middle East as a Palestinian American. In the last fifteen years, my focus has been on the United States, particularly with regard to how the United States has addressed the issues of racial inequality and lack of rights for the most marginalized, historically discriminated against groups in the United States, with or without consideration of international human rights law. My experience is really a mix of working both in and outside the United States trying to create a shift in terms of the way that foreign policy and domestic policy should be more linked rather than completely separated as it has been for decades.
