1 Actually it is designed to answer the question “how is pure science of Nature possible?” where Nature is taken to include minds as well as bodies. The connection of the Critique of Pure Reason with Newton is not in fact so close as Mr. Weldon says, and it is to Metaphysische Anfangsgründe der Naturwissenschaft, if anywhere, that we must look for the justification of Newtonian science.
