Abstract

Argonne National Laboratory is preparing to build a new synchrotron radiation source, the 7-GeV Advanced Photon Source (APS), that will provide the world's most brilliant x-ray beams for research. The APS will produce x-rays for materials research, condensed-matter physics, chemistry, and biological and medical studies by researchers from industry, universities, and national laboratories.
