In the above article by S.K. Pikesley et al., first published online on 9 June 2011, Figures 5 and 7 were incorrect. The authors supplied a revised Figure 7, which was wrongly renamed in the production/typesetting process as Figure 5. This led to the revised Figure 7 being printed as Figure 5 in the printed article. In addition our supplier's proofreader failed to notice that the original Figure 7 was printed in the article not the revised Figure 7.

The correct Figure 5 and Figure 7 are displayed below.

Fig. 5. Hexagonal polygon binning density estimates for (A) cetacean sightings with Marine Tour Operator data removed 1991 to 2008 (N = 6178) and (B) cetacean strandings 1991 to 2008 (N = 1856).

Fig. 7. Hexagonal polygon binning density estimates for Marine Tour Operator (MTO) sightings for all species: (A) Land's End to Mount's Bay (N = 234); (B) Lizard Point to Dodman Point (N = 253). For MTO species-specific plots see Supplementary Figure 3 online.

The publisher apologises to the authors and the Marine Biological Association for this error.
