Sudden total deafness in sickle cell disease

Sickle cell disease is a world-wide problem which has been noted to cause high tone sensorineural hearing loss. We report a case with sudden onset bilateral hearingloss which progressed to total sensorineural deafness. To our knowledge there has been noreport of such a case occurring previously.
