Are There AGNs in the Nearby Dwarf Galaxies?

The presence or absence of a nucleus is considered for a sample of galaxies limited by distance, not by flux. For the 365 nearest galaxies situated within a distance of ~7 Mpc, classification of their central regions is based on large-scale images obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope as well as with the 6-m and other large ground-based telescopes. Occurrence of nucleated galaxies is considered as a function of their luminosity, morphological type and other global properties.
