Lior Erez is a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute, working on cosmopolitanism, republican citizenship, and global political ethics. His doctoral project, Motivating Cosmopolitanism (2015), is a reconstruction and defense of the motivational critique of cosmopolitan theory. Christopher J. Finlay, a reader in political theory at the University of Birmingham, writes on just war theory, the ethics of political violence, and the political theory of revolution. His most recent book is Terrorism and the Right to Resist: A Theory of Just Revolutionary War (2015) and his articles have appeared in International Theory, The Journal of Political Philosophy, and the Review of International Studies, among other journals. Denise Garcia is associate professor in the Department of Political Science and the International Affairs program at Northeastern University and a Nobel Peace Institute Fellow. Her research focuses on international law and on the impact of lethal robotics and artificial intelligence on peace and security, on which she testified in 2016 to the third Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons Meeting of Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems at the UN Office in Geneva. In 2016, Garcia was the recipient of Northeastern's College of Social Sciences and Humanities Outstanding Teaching Award; and each year she teaches a course titled “Global Governance of International Security & the World Politics of Diplomacy” at the United Nations in Geneva. d.lapon@northeastern.edu
Celia Medrano served as spokesperson and director of the nongovernmental Human Rights Commission in El Salvador between 1987 and 1997, and later in the Ombudsman's Office for Human Rights and as General Coordinator for the Commission for the Defense of Human Rights in Central America. She studied at the National University of El Salvador with a focus on journalism and communications, as well as at the International Organization for the Right to Education in Geneva with a focus on human rights and education. She also has an administration management degree from the Specialized Institute for Higher Education in Diplomatic Formation. Medrano has served as a member of the Advisory Council for the Central American Integration System and was the Central American representative for the Latin American Platform for Conflict Prevention. In recent years she has worked as Consul General for El Salvador in Washington, D.C., and as Director of Human Rights and Humanitarian Management at the Ministry of Foreign Relations in El Salvador. celia_medrano@hotmail.es
Jonathan Parry teaches moral and political philosophy at the University of Birmingham, where he directs the Centre for the Study of Global Ethics. His research focuses on the intersection of just war theory and topics in political philosophy. Pål Wrange is professor of public international law at Stockholm University and the director of the Stockholm Center for International Law and Justice. Wrange has published widely on international law, international relations, and theory, and he has worked on international criminal justice for the European Union, governments, and NGOs. Prior to 2010, he was a principal legal advisor at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he advised and represented Sweden in various issues related to the use of military force, the International Criminal Court, collective security, and terrorism. pal.wrange@juridicum.su.se
