The bulk of the contributions in this volume were presented at a conference on Belief, Action, and Rationality over Time hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and sponsored by the Canadian Journal of Philosophy, the UW-Madison Philosophy Department, and a gift from Rodney J. Blackman. The aim of the conference, which was organized by Sarah Paul, Michael Titelbaum, Chrisoula Andreou, and Sergio Tenenbaum, was to stimulate discussion among action theorists and epistemologists interested in overlapping debates concerning belief, action, rationality, and time. This volume brings together ten new articles and an author-meets-critics section, all geared toward advancing these debates.
