Summary
Parliament, councils (C) and great councils (GC)
Summons to the archbishop of Armagh , dated 28 November 1491 at Dublin.
Summons to the archbishop of Armagh to appear, dated 12 October 1494 at Dublin.
Certificate from the archbishop to the king regarding proctors for parliament, dated 11 June 1496. John Cashel, prior of St John the Baptist, Ardee represented the archbishop in the parliament held at Drogheda on the Friday after St Andrew the Apostle 1494. The parliament granted a five-year subsidy due every Easter following. The annual subsidy for Armagh inter Anglicos was £44, susbequently reduced to £19/13/8 (see below). The collectors were: Thomas Warren, rector of Clonmore (Drogheda), Patrick Cullyns, firmarius of Stabannon (Ardee) and Richard White, firmarius of Templeton (Dundalk).
As far as we can tell, only the archbishops of Dublin and Armagh and the bishop of Meath were definitely present at this parliament, though the bishop of Ferns was the only one to be fined for absence. Clergy proctors were returned for the dioceses of Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Armagh ﹛inter Anglicos), Limerick, Ossory, Ferns, Waterford and Lismore, Cork and Cloyne. Ossory returned two proctors for the dean and chapter and another two for the clergy, none of whom was present at the second session held at Castledermot. Ferns returned only one chapter and one clergy proctor, who were also absent from the second session, as was the proctor for Armagh inter Anglicos. All of these were fined for their absence.
